Match Report:
A thoroughly even end to end affair with plenty of great chances for both teams throughout. Western Springs edged the first half and went into the sheds 1 - 0 up after Wan Gatkek scored in the 39th minute, tapping home after an initial strike was blocked but not held by AUFC keeper Waite.
The 2nd half saw the momentum swing back with the home side who eventually took advantage through a wonderful strike from Ignacio Machucha in the 74th minute. The final 15 minutes saw the men in black pile on the pressure, coming close to finding a winner on numerous occasions, but it wasn’t to be with the match finishing 1 - 1.
Although some of the chances to go ahead will be lamented, an important point was secured along with 4th place on the table, for now.
