Auckland United FC Premier Women have claimed their third trophy of the season with a 0 - 1 win over Western Springs in the Kate Sheppard Cup Final.

The Kate Sheppard Cup will now sit alongside their OFC Women’s Champions League and Lotto NRFL Women’s Premiership Trophies in what a very stacked cabinet, with their National League Championship title defence still to come.

A 90th minute long range screamer off the left hoof from Charlotte Roche was the difference in the Kate Sheppard Cup final, and enough for the young striker to claim the Player of the Match award.

This was the third match in row this season against Western Springs to end 1- 0, with Charlotte Roche the scorer in each of those games, showing just what a fantastic signing she has been, with a tally of 14 goals to her name in the Premiership alone.

Although the match was dominated for long periods by United, there was still a number of nervy moments with Western Springs able to apply plenty of pressure at times, and none more so than the dying stages of the 11 added minutes.

When Springs had it in the back of the net only for it to be called back for what might have been a foul on the Keeper, and then hit the crossbar with time almost up, you just knew it was meant to be.

After celebrating another incredible achievement for this club, the squad’s attention will then turn to their National League Championship Title defence.
