Log jam at top of the table into final round of NZ National League Championship

AUFC Women’s bench celebrate Bree Johnson’s first half goal vs Western Springs in Round 8 of the 2023 NZ National League Championship.

A Round 8 win over Western Springs AFC sees Auckland United FC Premier Women sit atop the 2023 NZ National League Championship table after bottom placed Ellerslie AFC picked up their first points of the season with a win over former table toppers Eastern Suburbs.

There’s a log jam at the top as our Women enter the final round on equal points (19) and goal difference (+13) with Southern United, while Eastern Suburbs are one point back (18) and Western Springs (16) are also still a realistic chance of making the Grand Final with their superior goal difference (+16).

AUFC Women are away for the final regular season game vs Wellington United who have 4 wins, a draw and 3 losses from their 8 games played, with the match brought forward due to flight scheduling issues to a 1:00pm kickoff on Sunday at Petone Memorial Park.

As always every game will be streamed live and free on FIFA+, with club members and supporters encouraged to get along to Keith Hay Park where the match will be up on the big screens, the bar and kitchen open.

We’ll also be screening Western Springs vs CF Waterside Karori, Canterbury United Pride vs Eastern Suburbs AFC, and Southern United FC vs Ellerslie AFC LIVE from 2:00pm.
