Auckland United FC would like to thank Brad Bicknell for his exceptional contribution to our football clubs across the past 20 years!

Brad started his football journey at just 5 years old with Three Kings United Sparrows.

In 2019 Brad was appointed interim Director of Football after holding several positions at the club and progressing as both an aspiring coach and a goalkeeper for the First Team. (TKU merged with Onehunga Sports FC to form AUFC in late 2019).

In 2020, Brad joined the Auckland United FC staff full time as Community Development Officer before being promoted to the Director of Football position in 2023.

Throughout his time at TKU/AUFC Brad has made a massive contribution on the grass as a coach, primarily focusing his attention on the U17 and U23 pathways, as well as assisting the Men’s Premier side during the National League Championship campaign.

Brad is leaving Auckland United for a position with the Wellington Phoenix starting in early 2024 and we couldn’t be more proud to see him spread his wings. It was Paul Bateson who first encouraged Brad to get into coaching which began with a 9th grade team for TKU back in 2017.

“Auckland United prides itself as a club with pathways and a development focus, it is rewarding to see coaches as well as players, progressing in their careers onto the professional stage. We are delighted for Brad and thank him for his enormous contribution to our football club. Brad will be a huge asset to the Wellington Phoenix and we wish him all the very best”. - Jo Dawkins, Auckland United FC High Performance Director.

THANK YOU BRAD!
