Auckland United FC welcomes NZ Football Ferns to Keith Hay Park for FIFA World Cup

We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the Aotearoa New Zealand Football Ferns to their new home at Keith Hay Park for the duration of the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday.

The New Zealand Women’s Football squad will utilise Keith Hay Park as a home training base for the tournament and hosted their final warm-up match here vs Italy on Friday evening.

The match was played behind closed doors with Valentina Giacinti scoring for the visitors midway through the first half in what was a 0 - 1 win for Italy, a side ranked significantly higher than the Ferns.

The New Zealand Football Ferns will make their final preparations over the next 5 days at Keith Hay Park before facing Norway in their opening match at Eden Park next Thursday, kickoff 7:00PM.

We wish the Football Ferns all the very best as they prepare to run out at a home FIFA Women’s World Cup, chasing their first ever World Cup victory.
