Auckland United FC welcomes new U17 U23 Head Coach

Auckland United are delighted to have appointed Mark Atkinson as our new U17 and U23 Head Coach to join our staff going forward.

Mark will be familiar to some, as a former All Whites representative and experienced professional coach over the past decade.

Mark is one of few coaches, alongside Auckland United, who has been present at both New Zealand U17 Youth National Leagues and faced us last year as head coach of Ole Academy / Western Suburbs.

Mark joins us after 6 years as the ‘Head of Senior Phase’ at Olé Academy, where he specialised in the transition of youth players into the senior football space, as well as exit strategies for aspiring professionals.

Before joining Olé, Mark spent 8 years playing at the highest level in Singapore and Australia. He represented New Zealand at age-group level and went on to become an All White, earning 36 International caps.

We are delighted to have Mark join our staff and look forward to having players and parents meeting before pre-season training in the next few weeks!
