Everton O'Leary has joined Auckland United FC for the upcoming NZ National League Championship

Auckland United FC is delighted to announce that Everton O'Leary will join us from fellow Northern League club Birkenhead United for the upcoming National League Championship.

The 18-year-old defender, already a regular Northern League starter for Birkenhead over the past couple of seasons has also represented New Zealand at the age group level.

Everton was a member of the NZ U20 National Team that competed at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina earlier this year, starting in the group game draw vs Uzbekistan and coming on as a sub vs Argentina.

On Everton’s signing Auckland United FC Head Coach José Figueira said - "Qualifying for the National League gives clubs the opportunity to add U20 players to the squad, and after looking around the Northern League it was an obvious choice to bring someone with Everton's pedigree, attitude and quality into the squad. Everton will give us more depth and tactical options in the defensive line and he has already settled in well with the squad".

Welcome Everton! We look forward to seeing you out on the pitch soon.
