Auckland United FC Premier Men & Women claim big wins in Round 2
A winning start to our 2024 Lotto NRFL Women's Premiership campaign, bagging all 3 points with a 0 - 4 win over Ellerslie AFC at Michales Avenue Reserve, thanks to goals from ⚽️ Alexis Cook, ⚽️ Rene Wasi, ⚽️ Talisha Green and ⚽️ Charlotte Roche!
After weathering an early onslaught from Tauranga City AFC our Premier Men have gone on to dominate the opening half, controlling the match from about the 15 minute mark and picking up 2 goals through ⚽️ Daniel Atkinson (23') from a lovely set piece move, followed by ⚽️ Josh Tollervey (31') who calmly slotted a penalty to score his first goal for the club.
In the second half, although Tauranga City at times held the momentum, eventually scoring their only goal of the match in the ⚽️ 66th minute, the game was always in our control with 2nd half goals from the impressive ⚽️ Oli Fay in the 60th minute, and a delighted ⚽️ Semi Nabenu in the 80th minute making it 1 - 4 to seal the result.
