Auckland United FC crowned 2024 OFC Women’s Champions League Champions

After 5 games in 12 days played out in the Honiara heat, Auckland United FC Premier Women’s team have prevailed, overcoming PNG’s Hekari United FC 1 - 0 in the 2024 OFC Women’s Champions League Grand Final.

Our young team showed tremendous grit to get through extra time in the semi-final just 3 days earlier, and displayed great composure in the final to hang on after Bree Johnson put AUFC ahead in the 25th minute.

Bree Johnson slots it home to put United ahead in the 2024 OFC Women’s Champions League Final in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

That strike proved decisive in the end as neither side was able to convert their chances, with United largely dominating possession and making Hekari chase the game.

Player of the Match Alaina Granger is interviewed following the Grand Final win.

Overall a really really massive achievement for such a young team on the pitch as well as the wider AUFC community who worked so hard to raise the funds to get the team to the Solomon Islands, and a tactical masterclass from Ben Bate and the coaching team.

Auckland United FC celebrate Bree Johnson’s 25th minute goal in the 2024 OFC Women’s Champions League Final.
