Auckland United In-House Prizegiving 2024

Prizegiving will take place on the weekend of 20/21st September. The planned schedule for prizegiving and game times is below. Please read the notes below on the planned ‘fun games’ for that weekend, and please note that some of the game times will be different to what are usually scheduled for some grades - this is to ensure we can fit all games, and all prizegiving sessions in.

Coaches/game day leaders will be called up to present the awards to your team. You can then collect any team photos that have been paid for, your coaches gift, and a bag of lollies for your team.

Fun games

Due to some of the restrictions on pitch use by Auckland Council from the 16th September onwards, in-house grades will still be able to play on the prizegiving weekend, but we are limited in our pitch use.

6th-10th grades: We are going to play all matches for 6th-10th grade on the 20th/21st as ‘fun’ matches within each team (generally parents/older siblings vs kids), and with reduced match times so we can fit all teams in (plus we’re pretty sure the parents might only be able to play a limited match time anyway :).

5th grade mixed/5-6th girls we will play a normal coaching week as with previous weeks, from 8.40am-9.20am after your prizegiving session at 8.10am. At the prizegiving, each player will get a certificate and a chocolate bar.

11/12th grade mixed: We will play your games on the south side, as either parents vs kids or against another team, as per the draw below.

Gear bags

Gear bags will need to be returned once you have completed your final game. The gear shop will collect and sign back in your gear bag. Please ensure the bag is returned, either at the prizegiving session, or if you are having a game after prizegiving, then after that game.

Team medals (separate to prizegiving awards)

If you are planning to do team medals then please aim to do this either before or after your fun match, also bearing in mind that some teams will have their fun match before prizegiving for their grade, and others will have their match after the prizegiving.

Wet Weather

In case of wet weather cancellations of the games, we will still hold prizegiving at the scheduled time.
