The Grand Illumination: Keith Hay Park Fully Lit

Grounds and Facilities Chair Leif Rennell and Puketāpapa Local Board member Ella Kumar.

On Thursday evening Auckland United FC held a special event at our clubrooms to celebrate with key supporters and sponsors as our brand new #1 surface was lit up for the first time.

Light snacks and refreshments were followed by a presentation from Club Chairman Murrray Holdsworth, President Dean Cudmore, and High Performance Director Jo Dawkins.

Club Chairman Murray Holdsworth presents an overview of club operations to our key sponsors and supporters.

Highlights from the presentation included a roundup of the past 12 months successes across all grades, an overview of the club’s finances, and an update on the FIFA Women’s World Cup, when the New Zealand Football Ferns will be using the clubhouse and meticulously prepared new #1 pitch as their training base.

At the conclusion of the presentation guests were invited to assemble out on the deck and AUFC Supporters Club balcony as Grounds and Facilities Chair Leif Rennell fired up the lights to reveal our new #1 pitch in all it’s glory. Those in attendance were then also treated to a fine display from the new sprinklers.

The surface is absolutely incredible and the club couldn’t be more blown away by the final results of all the hard work from many people over the past months to prepare the pitch, irrigation, and lighting.

We absolutely couldn’t have done this without the support of our amazing sponsors.

BIG shout out to SIGNBIZ - Signage + Design + Print for their ongoing support alongside all of our amazing sponsors that have helped to make this possible!
