Auckland United FC Premier Women to play for Rennell Cup

The Rennell Cup is a brand new trophy donated by Paul and Lindsay Rennell to be played for by Auckland United FC Women and Eastern Suburbs AFC Women.

Paul Rennell’s history with Eastern Suburbs AFC has been a long and successful one, having played 173 games for Eastern Suburbs scoring 35 goals and winning three Chatham Cups in his time!

Paul has three granddaughters that play at Auckland United FC and he can be seen supporting them most weekends around the football parks of Auckland.

With both Eastern Suburbs AFC Premier Women and Auckland United FC Premier Women currently in the same league, the Rennell Cup will first go up for grabs during this Lotto NRFL winter season.

It will no doubt be a source of great pride for the footballing man that the trophy his three granddaughters will get the chance to play for bares the name Rennell.

The eagerly awaited Rennell Cup showdown on Saturday 27 May will be the first trophy match played on Auckland United FC’s new #1 pitch, and will feature the Premier Men’s sides playing the curtain raiser in what will be a massive double header.

The new Auckland United FC #1 home pitch has been designed, prepared and meticulously maintained for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, when it will act as a home training base for the New Zealand Football Ferns.

Do not miss out on this massive occasion. Be there to support the Auckland United FC Premier Women when they run out under the lights for the very first time on our brand new pitch, with a trophy on the line!
